PS5 ON THE MOVE

Give students opportunities to grow in the field of aviation. Students are engaged in aviation instruction on flight simulators. Pilots are mentors and instructors. The Ronald E. McNair Aviation Center has afforded the students to learn about famous pilots, including the female pilot teams. Students have met famous TV personalities, executives from Mattel Toys, and student pilots. The students have their own airplane located in the school courtyard. Students are engaging in the mechanic part of aviation as well. The students have visited the hanger, flight deck, air traffic control center, and a 777 aircraft at JFK airport. Students are in the process of building an air traffic control center as the next level to the aviation program.
